You do not have to work a minimum number of hours or days to be eligible for Paid Family Leave or State Disability Insurance benefits. The amount of benefits you receive is determined by your earnings in the base period, not by the number of hours or days worked. Click here to calculate your benefit amount.
But remember, Paid Family Leave and State Disability Insurance do not require your employer to hold your job for you while you are on leave. You must separately qualify for job protection under Pregnancy Disability Leave or the California Family Rights Act leave to know that your job will be safe.
