Your employer may require you to use up to two weeks of earned but unused vacation leave prior to using your Paid Family Leave benefits. Vacation leave may include paid time off. However, your employer cannot require you to use your paid sick leave before using your Paid Family Leave benefits.
Your employer can require you to use your paid sick time if you are unable to work because of your pregnancy or serious health condition, but only while you are not receiving pay through State Disability Insurance.
