Though many Californians are eligible to receive paid family leave benefits, awareness of the program remains low. In fact, just over one-third of Californians know that they can use these benefits to help them care for loved ones, and this percentage has decreased in recent years.
You can help turn this around.
Join the #HowICare campaign to let your family, friends and colleagues know how they can learn more about paid family leave. Most California employees are eligible for paid family leave, which enables them to take up to six weeks of paid leave to bond with a newborn baby, newly adopted or foster child, or to care for an ill family member.
Here’s what you can do to spread the word.
Please join us for a month-long campaign to share information about paid family leave via email, Facebook and Twitter. Below are some sample messages for you to share with your followers. And if you prefer email, here’s a sample message for you to share with five friends:
